Why Mental Health Awareness Matters in the Church!
May is Mental Health Awareness Month, and the Bethany Community Church Health Ministry is committed to highlighting the importance of mental well-being.
Mental health is a vital part of our overall health. Understanding conditions such as depression, anxiety, and personality disorders enables us to support one another with love, grace, and compassion.
As followers of Christ, we are called to “carry each other’s burdens” (Galatians 6:2). Acknowledging mental health struggles allows us to be the hands and feet of Jesus to those who are hurting. Seeking help is not a sign of weak faith—it’s a courageous step toward healing.
At BCC, we strive to create a safe and supportive environment where members can speak openly about mental health and receive prayer, guidance, and access to helpful resources. Together, we can break the stigma and share hope that is firmly rooted in Christ.
This Mental Health Awareness Month, let’s embrace both faith and wellness. God cares deeply about every part of us, including our mental and emotional well-being. When we acknowledge our struggles, seek help, and rely on His promises, we honor Christ’s power to bring about complete healing.
