Serving Is an Act of Love!
In today’s busy, self-focused world, the call to serve others is a beautiful reminder of what it truly means to follow Christ. For believers, service isn’t just something we do—it’s who we are. It reflects the very heart of Jesus and brings His love to life in practical ways.
Jesus, Our Ultimate Example
“The Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life as a ransom for many.”
— Matthew 20:28
Jesus is the perfect example of what it means to live a life of service. Though He is the King of Kings, He humbled Himself to serve others—washing feet, healing the broken, feeding the hungry, and ultimately giving His life. He calls us to do the same: serve with humility and love.
Serving Is an Act of Love
“Serve one another humbly in love.”
— Galatians 5:13
Serving others is an expression of God’s love flowing through us. It’s not about duty—it’s about devotion. Every time we extend a hand, offer help, or speak life into someone’s situation, we reflect the love of Christ.
Your Gifts Are Meant to Be Shared
“Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others.”
— 1 Peter 4:10
You have a unique set of gifts—talents, skills, passions—that God wants to use to bless others. Whether you’re a teacher, encourager, organizer, musician, or caregiver, your gifts are a vital part of the body of Christ.

Serving the Least of These….
“Whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.”
— Matthew 25:40
When we care for the poor, feed the hungry, visit the sick, or help the struggling, we’re doing it unto Christ. True service enables us to move beyond our comfort zones and meet real needs in our communities and beyond.
Faith That Moves… Serves
“Faith without deeds is dead.”
— James 2:26
A faith that’s alive is a faith that acts. Service is the natural response to God’s grace in our lives. We don’t serve to be saved—we serve because we are saved.

How Can You Serve This Week?
- Volunteer in a local ministry or outreach.
- Write a note of encouragement to someone.
- Serve in the church (as an usher, Sunday school teacher, tech, etc.)
- Cook a meal for a neighbor or someone who is shut-in.
- Support missionaries or the mission trip to Chile.
- Ask, “How can I help?”
Final Encouragement
As a church family, let’s put our faith into action by choosing to serve with open hands and open hearts. Our service may seem small, but in God’s hands, it becomes part of something much bigger—His kingdom’s work on earth.
Let’s be known not only by our words but by the way we love and serve.
“Whoever wants to become great among you must be your servant.”
— Matthew 20:26
